Cambridge Exam Parts

Use of English

Use of English focuses on grammar and vocabulary through a variety of text-based exercises. You’ll be asked to complete tasks such as filling in gaps, transforming sentences, and choosing the right words. The texts are taken from magazines, short stories, online articles, and fiction. Choose your English level to start practicing.

Reading

Reading tests how well you understand written texts. You will answer multiple-choice questions, match information, or insert missing paragraphs into a passage. This section checks your ability to understand the writer’s opinion, tone, purpose, key ideas, and how a text is structured.

Listening

In the Listening part, you will listen to recordings of conversations, interviews, or monologues. Your task is to answer questions based on what you hear. This part tests your ability to understand both general meaning and specific details.

Speaking

The Speaking test is done in pairs, with two candidates and two examiners. You’ll take part in conversations, give opinions, and describe things or pictures. This part tests your ability to speak fluently, use grammar and vocabulary correctly, and interact naturally.

Writing

The Writing part checks your ability to express ideas clearly in written English. You may be asked to write an essay, email, letter, article, or report. You’ll need to organize your writing well, use proper grammar and vocabulary, and adapt your style to match the task (for example, formal or informal). Each writing task has specific instructions you must follow carefully.
